My ongoing weight loss journey through deep breathing!

Losing weight by breathing

Yes, I’m continuing my journey with deep breathing.  I’m still at 20 pounds lost.  However, I’m only doing one deep breathing exercise per day (a set of six).  And I’m keeping this weight off.  This is so exciting for me.  I’ve never been able to lose weight and keep it off this long.  And all this with just one set of deep breathing exercises.

I’m continuing my reading and researching of deep breathing and keep finding new articles to read.  This has encouraged me and reaffirmed to me that deep breathing will definitely work for me.

Some of my online finds are as follows:

I have many more online articles to share with you in future posts.

Correct breathing

I have found that while one would think, breathing would be easy, but breathing correctly is actually work.  And I have read that you must do the breathing correctly.

Here’s a YouTube video by Greer Childers showing the breathing technique.  Right now I can only do the first one sitting down (this one has a facial move built in to work on the face and neck area also).

I’m only doing that first sitting exercise right now because I can do it on my bed or in my wheelchair.  I’m doing it once a day.  This morning I weighed 261.6 before getting into the shower.  I’m ashamed to say I weighed between 281-283 when I started this.

A few days ago I went to my hematologist appointment and Dr. Beck noticed my weight loss and asked how I did it.  I smiled and told him I was using deep breathing.  He kinda grinned skeptically  and then said “I’m not knocking results  whatever you are doing, keep it up”.  So I am.

I’m  really looking forward to going back to my diabetes doc and my rheumatologist.  My diabetic doc has been encouraging me to do bariatric surgery and I’ve been resisting.  I have a bet with my rheumatologist to lose ten pounds, boy is he going to be surprised!

To be completely honest, I’m not done too great on my eating habits.  Ever since Halloween, I’ve been eating sweets and candy.  Not good for a diabetic and my BG is showing it.  I am going to do better.

My Challenge to myself and you

Today is Friday “Black Friday”, I’m going to bump up to two sets of deep breathing exercise for a week and report back what happens on a blog post.  I’m also going to try to eat a little better.  Actually I’m going to work on three things:

  1. Deep breathing – two sets a day
  2. Eating less sweets
  3. Cold showers to activate my brown fat (yes, cold showers – I’ll create a new post talking about this)!

I’m looking forward to reporting back on my results.  Why don’t you watch that video and try the first sitting exercise once a day for the next week and report back what your results are in a comment to this post?

Until next time.

Thanks for looking at my site and coming to this page. I would love for you to leave any questions or comments below.  In addition, I’m open to new topics to research and comment on as they pertain to my own health and experience living with diabetes.  Please share your interests and questions in your comments.  I also love to hear others stories about how they handle their own diabetes issues.
